Weighted Earrings are a level 20 earring in MapleStory Classic World, and the fastest way to get them is to buy them for 9,000 mesos from Serabi the Fairy at the Ellinia Weapon Store. Most players look for them because a level 17 quest, Progress on Fossil Research, asks you to hand a pair in. This page covers where to buy them, their stats and the quest that needs them. The item data is community-reported: it comes from the MeowDB database at launch prices, not from Nexon.
Where to get Weighted Earrings
Serabi the Fairy, the armor seller in the Ellinia Weapon Store on Victoria Road, sells Weighted Earrings for 9,000 mesos. That is the only shop the database lists. It also lists monster drops, but only from old MapleStory versions, and it warns that those rates may not match Classic World, so this wiki does not list drops. Buying is the reliable route. If you are short on mesos, the leveling guide covers the early training maps.
MapleStory Classic Weighted Earrings stats
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Equip, earring |
| Required level | 20 |
| Job | Any (none listed) |
| Stats | +22 Magic Defense, +1 Avoidability |
| Upgrade slots | 5 |
| Tradeable | Yes |
| Shop price | 9,000 mesos |
| Sells to NPC for | 3,000 mesos |
The stats are defensive and small: Magic Defense helps against monsters that cast spells, and the five upgrade slots leave room for scrolls later. As an earring for levels 20 and up, it fills a slot that is often empty early on.
The quest that needs Weighted Earrings
Progress on Fossil Research comes from Dr. Betty in Ellinia at level 17. It follows Winston's fossil quests near Perion and asks for one pair of Weighted Earrings. The reward is Leaf Earrings, 982 EXP and 555 mesos, and the report goes back to Winston. The quest asks you to hand the earrings in, not to wear them, so you can buy them before you reach level 20.
