This MapleStory Classic Warrior guide covers the first job from level 10 to 30: which skills to put points in, how to split ability points between STR and DEX, the weapons to buy at each level and how to pick between Fighter, Page and Spearman at second job. Warriors are the sturdiest base class in MapleStory Classic World, with high HP and short-range melee attacks. The builds here are community-reported. They come from two published Classic World warrior guides and are listed only where the two agree.
How to become a Warrior
Finish Maple Island, then talk to Dances with Balrog in Perion at level 10 for your first job. At level 30 the same trainer offers the second job: Fighter, Page or Spearman. The job advancement guide covers the other base classes.
MapleStory Classic Warrior skill build, level 10-30
Power Strike is your single-target attack and Slash Blast hits up to six monsters at once. Both guides max Power Strike first, then Slash Blast, then Precise Strikes, which adds Accuracy and critical chance. Level by level:
| Level | Skill points |
|---|---|
| 10 | Power Strike +1 |
| 11 | Power Strike +2, Slash Blast +1 |
| 12 | Power Strike +1, Slash Blast +2 |
| 13 | Slash Blast +1, Precise Strikes +2 |
| 14 | Precise Strikes +3 |
| 15-19 | Power Strike +3 per level (to 19) |
| 20 | Power Strike +1 (maxed at 20), Slash Blast +2 |
| 21-24 | Slash Blast +3 per level (to 18) |
| 25-30 | Finish Slash Blast, max Precise Strikes (15), then Improved HP Recovery and Max HP Increase |
The two guides split the last few points differently: one puts a point in Iron Body at level 30, the other leaves it out. MeowDB no longer recommends maxing Max HP Increase at first job. The 9 Beginner points before level 10 go 3 each into Three Snails, Recovery and Nimble Feet.
Warrior AP build: STR and DEX
A new Warrior starts with 12 STR, 5 DEX, 4 INT and 4 LUK, plus 25 ability points. Both guides put every point into STR up to level 10, which gives 57 STR and 5 DEX. From there, STR is the main stat and DEX only goes up when a new weapon needs it or you start missing monsters. Both end level 30 at about 135 STR and 27 DEX. INT and LUK get nothing.
Precise Strikes helps with accuracy, so maxing it early cuts the DEX you need. HP washing is not covered by either guide, and this wiki does not recommend it.
Warrior weapons by level
| Level | Weapons |
|---|---|
| 10 | Long Sword, Wooden Sword, Metal Axe |
| 15 | Sabre, Battle Axe |
| 20 | Viking Sword, Two-Handed Sword, Iron Axe |
| 25 | Mithril Axe, Broadsword, Two-Handed Axe |
| 30 | Gladius, Fireman's Axe, Scimitar, Blue Axe |
Higher weapons ask for some DEX: MeowDB lists 30 total DEX for the Blue Axe at level 30. Check a weapon's requirement before you spend AP, and plan the weapon type around the second job you want. Fighter uses swords or axes, Page swords or blunt weapons, and Spearman spears or polearms.
Fighter vs Page vs Spearman
Every branch shares the same first job, so you can decide at level 30. Neither guide ranks the three; they describe each one's strength:
- Fighter: swords or axes and the Rage party buff. MeowDB's Fighter guide calls it the best damage per MP at level 70; the trade-off is short reach.
- Page: swords or blunt weapons, a shield with one-handed weapons, and Threaten, a debuff that slows monsters and lowers their defense. MeowDB recommends blunt weapons.
- Spearman: spears or polearms with the longest reach of the three, and Iron Will for defense. Two-handed weapons rule out a shield.
The class tier list and the best class guide compare them with the other seven classes.
Warrior changes in the Grand Launch patch
MeowDB's changelog records Warrior changes in the October 21 patch: Iron Body gives more Weapon Defense at every level, Improved HP Recovery raises potion healing more, and Final Attack for Fighter and Page stays active for 60 seconds instead of 30. Nexon's own maintenance notice lists Swordsman skill adjustments; the updates page links it.
