MapleStory Classic Classes

MapleStory Classic World has four base classes - Warrior, Magician, Bowman and Thief - each branching into second-job classes at level 30. At launch the job path stops at second job; third job is not part of Founder's Access. Pick a class below for the full page.

How to choose a class

Pick your base class (Warrior, Magician, Bowman or Thief) at level 10 from the town trainer that matches it, then pick a second-job branch at level 30. Warriors use STR as their main stat and tank hits; Magicians use INT and deal ranged elemental damage but have the lowest health; Bowmen use DEX for ranged crit damage; Thieves use LUK for fast, frequent small hits at close to mid range.

A top tier-list pick is not automatically the right pick for you. Ice/Lightning Wizard and Assassin lead most published lists for raw clear speed, but Cleric's Heal and buffs make it the class every party wants, and a slower class you enjoy playing will carry you further than a top pick you keep logging off.

Can you change class later?

Your base class (Warrior, Magician, Bowman, Thief) is locked in at first job advancement, level 10. You cannot switch base classes on the same character; a class change means starting a new character. Second-job advancement at level 30 only happens once per character, from your base class's trainer.
